We have been reading the story of Anasta with my daughter (she is almost 7 years old) for several evenings by now, and not in a row, but when we have a chance. I was lucky to catch the moment when she became interested in the power of thought.

Thanks, by the way, to Smeshariki (animated series). In the series there is a character named Pin-code. Our whole family loves him. And one very interesting episode was particularly about that. It was called I believe "The Universe under supervision.

And talking about the materiality of thought, I asked my daughter: "Do you want to know about the girl who stopped the glacier?

I write about it in such detail, because I want to show how important it is to catch the right, natural moment for telling a child important or complex information. Then it will be processed well and go deep.

Zlata instantly got excited. But, given her age, I was reading slowly, with the right accents, controlling the understanding. She, of course, does not understand many words. But she grasps  well the essence of the story. She even asks for a continuation.

Bazhenka also listens, but falls asleep very quickly. And the main question that Zlata asks is: "Was it all true?" For some reason, she cares a lot about it.

She thinks a lot about the story. Zlata has a grasping mind.

Here are just a few of her questions that were asked both in the course of reading the story and during the day, even when we did not read it the day before.
- What are mammoths?
- Do snakes really drink milk?
- What is a glacier?

Until we got to the actual chapter with the glacier, she persistently asked with me: "How?!? Now how will she stop the glacier?"
- Can we also improve our animals?
- Does she really live now, that girl?
- The light boy (Light Brother) is good, and the dark boy is bad. He wants to destroy the world.

And I try as I can to explain about the balance of energies, about the duality of the world, good and evil, light and shadow.

A lot of interesting situations arise in the course of reading when I explain something to her.

She of course gets very impressed by the moments when animals help during construction and in ordinary life. She listened very attentively during the episodes with the young man Alan. She even froze for a moment when he put on the pendant of kin on Anasta.

In a word, the story was very well accepted. We have not read yet about how the two brothers came together to prevent a catastrophe, but she wants to hear it. And there she will probably understand that the Dark Brother is not bad, but is a necessary part of the universe.

After "Anasta" I plan to read to her about the seed-doctor from the first book. Because she really likes planting.

And that’s how I think one should read "Anastasia" to children of preschool and primary school age - in pieces, in separate episodes that are not detached from real life.

One should always be on the alert and use every chance to insert portions of the vital information of pristine origin into the child’s brain. And at the same time, we rethink it ourselves: while you explain the moments that are difficult for children's perception, you yourself see many things in a different light.
