Only after a comfortable and surprisingly rainy June, came usual cubanian heat with 38C. It’s very hot even in the shade. You feel comfortable just in the morning or evening.

On the summer solstice day our cat gave birth to four kittens, 2 black and 2 ginger. We found them only after 10 days after their birth. Alora (the author’s daughter) got incredibly happy to see them. It’s very pleasant for a 4 years old girl to have her own duties. Her task is feeding the kitties.

Yesterday, we found a fish in our pond. It surprised us a lot since we have not brought fish there and didn’t plan to do it. It is so good to swim in the pond in the heat. Swimming there after banya (Russian sauna) is absolutely marvelous.

We have caught 2 raccoons, and saw 6 ones in our hen house. It must be them who sentenced hens. We brought the raccoons to the shelter.

We started building a garage at the entrance of our Kin Domain.
Also, we are cleaning west side of the land.

We have already picked a few big bowls of bell papers and one bowl of tomatoes. There are not a lot of cucumbers, but enough for meals. If we need some onion, it is so pleasant to think that you have planted it and can go to the garden and pick. Now all our salads are with the crop from our own garden: lettuce, spring onion, sallery, dill, portulaca, garden orache, amaranth, tomatoes, cucumbers, bell papers.



We covered our green house with shading net and now it’s very comfortable inside.
The season of preservation has started. I am freezing a lot of bell papers. I have already frozen dill and ruccola, and dried 3 kinds of mint and lofant.



Campsis, day lilies, chamomiles, roses and calendula are blooming.
