Two weeks left before the winter solstice, and it was time for us to decorate the tree. The day was excellent: the sun is shining brightly, the frost stings a little on the cheeks and there is almost no wind.

Our Christmas tree grows at the entrance to the Kin Domain (this is a one and a half hectare plot of land with a house, forest, vegetable garden). Our eldest daughters Marina and Olesya planted it a long time ago. They were small at that time - both spruce and daughters. The girls then went to our forest on the site by themselves, dug up a small Christmas tree they liked and transplanted it closer to the house especially for the New Year celebration.

Previously, on the advice of my husband, they tied a thread to the northern branches in order to comply with the cardinal points when transplanting. At the same time, we told them about the north, south, west, east and showed them where they are located on our site.

During the first winters, the tree was completely covered with snow, even the top was not visible, and then it began to grow. It was so joyful for everyone to see!

This year, I cannot even reach the top, the spruce has grown so much. And while we were decorating this tree with the younger son Misha, I recalled all the moments associated with this tree, Marina and Olesya fondly.

This is my tradition over the past few years - to decorate this tree, remember, fill with warmth and inspiration, and then give them to others.

It's great when you have your own living tree and traditions in the family! I give you our warmth and happiness from our Kin Domain these winter days!
