This year we have built an adjoining greenhouse. The greenhouse is adjacent to the house on the south side. It has an entrance both from the outside and from the house itself. It was a very convenient and harmonious solution.





When it is -7 outside the window, but sunny, in the greenhouse it is more than +20 and we open the door there, children love to dig in the ground there.



Today there is no sun, outside the window is about 0, in the greenhouse +10. When it was -11 at night, I noticed that the water in the greenhouse was seized by ice, warmed up during the day.



Therefore, for the greenery, I put an additional agrospan greenhouse on the garden bed, greens (arugula, spinach, lettuce, onions) grow well in it. If I had sown it even earlier, at the beginning of September, and not at the beginning of November, it would have been marvelous.



We have not completed the greenhouse yet, we don’t have enough hands for everything, so it still functions in this state, but now I can observe and experiment with the timing of sowing.

Such a greenhouse performs several important functions at once, like all structures in permaculture: a solar and heat trap for additional heating of the house in the off-season, wind and dust protection of the house, and, accordingly, growing vegetables.

And for the soul: it is very pleasant when it is frost or wind outside the window, to go out with a cup of tea in hand, straight from the kitchen to a piece of summer, sit on the porch, look at the green grass and bask in the rays of the winter sun.
