Lubodar – About the Settlement and the People 14.11.2024 17:58:45
Perhaps many don't know the history of our settlement and some interesting facts about it. Let's introduce ourselves and tell you a little about who we are. We will divide our story into several parts so it’s not too overwhelming. It all started with a dream…
The forest surrounding the settlement is mixed, mainly birch and pine. There are also aspens, spruces, junipers, willows, oaks and lindens. Our forest is rich in mushrooms and berries. There are many boletus, aspen mushrooms, birch boletes, chanterelles and honey mushrooms. From the end of June to September, one type of berry replaces another (wild strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, lingonberries, cranberries).
We were enchanted by the beauty of these places and we longed for us and our children to live in nature, to gaze upon all this beauty, breathe in the scents of the herbs and grow healthy, strong, and kind.
Thus, in 2008, our settlement began its story. In 2010, our initiative group purchased land at an auction from the administration of the Melenkovsky district. From that year, active construction began. The entire land is classified as category CХ-3 (agricultural land for gardening, horticulture and dacha use) with the allowed use as 'Apiaries.' This allows us to legally build our homes with the right to register residency and the land is transferred into private ownership. Currently, there are 16 families in Lubodar (a total of 54 people).
We have quite good transportation access and a nearly year-round passable road, except for a few days in the spring. The distances are: 4 km to the village of Dobryatino, 6 km to the village of Maksimovo and 30 km to the district center, the town of Melenki. Recently (you could call it a gift from fate), the toll road Moscow-Kazan opened, which has reduced travel time (for those who need it) by half.
One can take care of their children's education themselves and we can share the experience we've gained in this area. Alternatively, there are state schools nearby (a small, cozy school) and the former Romanov Gymnasium. There's also a new arts school and a sports school.
We also have Lubodar residents who conduct workshops for children right in the settlement and there is also a theater club.
Our settlement, consisting of kin domains, is located in the Melenkovsky district of the Vladimir region.
